Recycled Cards

I have a giant box filled with old cards that I've received over the years - gorgeous greeting cards with wonderful images and patterns, embellishments and even cardstock - to me, as a cardmaker, it seems such a waste to just throw them out so I keep them in the hopes of recycling them, cutting them up and using them to create more cards to give away.

So in the spirit of this weeks Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge, where we were asked to  "Recycle Something", I've dug out some of these saved cards and have worked my magic to create new ones!

This is an Art Deco themed birthday card that I made for my Grandmother who is turning 85 in a few weeks! This image is so classic and feminine, I knew that I had to save it for a super special occasion! I hope my Gran likes it!

For this card:
Art Deco image found in my saved cards stash, cut using the largest Lawn Fawn outside in stitched scalloped rectangle die.
Pretty pink shimmer paper found on the inside of another saved card.
Flowers cut from some lovely recycled soft gold and pale pink envelopes, using the Lawn Fawn Spring Sprigg and Sizzix Flower & Leaf dies.
Thickers foam numbers (only item that wasn't recycled!!)

I think I did well with the recycling challenge - it's amazing what we accumulate over the years!!
